Help grow Chatham County’s future forest…in your yard!

Chatham County loses thousands of trees each year to construction, storms, disease, and age. By planting trees on your property, you can combat tree loss and grow our urban forest. In additional to beautifying your property, trees provide economic, environmental, and health benefits to you and your neighbors.

Through this program, Savannah Tree Foundation will help you identify what tree species works best for your property, plant the tree for you, and provide real-time post-planting support to you care for your new tree. It’s as easy as 1, 2, TREE!

1. Apply for yard trees – provide your address, the number of trees, and tree type preferences.

2. Coordinate with STF – an STF staff member will reach out to discuss how to select the Right Tree and put it in the Right Place. They will also work with you on a planting date.

3. TREE! STF’s Canopy Corps Apprentices will deliver and plant your tree, free of charge, on the agreed upon date.

Plantings will occur between December 2024 and March 2025.

This program is funded by the Georgia Forestry Commission as part of its Trees Across Georgia (TAG) program, created by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
